You need to configure your APN settings properly for your gsm operator.
I have Jiayu G2 and it gets a fix in 2-3 minutes without any special software or setting. My Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 gets much faster fix. I think all MTK chipset phones have slow fix problem. Some of them even does not get a fix for long time.

Is it recognized by SP flash tool? (after installing the correct USB drivers). If it is, then find a ROM for your phone and install it.
Take out the battery and measure the voltage with a multimeter. Do you read a voltage above 3 volts?
