Thanks, the root worked on my THL W8, though I was worried when it sat so long on the “…Superuser.apk” line.
What I can’t do though is install drivers that will let SP Tool install a custom recovery. Windows (Vista) won’t let me make my own choice of driver package so keeps searching Windows Update and failing of course. Stupid thing. I’ll keep digging though!
