Yes it should work on XP, but I haven’t tested. May be you can try and let us know.
Hello, I tried with a Zopo C2 and the driver works.
I unpacked the file MT65xx_USB_Driver.zip and copied it on the hard disk. Then during installation I specified the path to the inf file (android_winusb.inf).
I noticed that Zopo C2 uses VID=0BB4 and PID=0C03 (the same of HTC Magic ?)

Hello, I have a S9500 smartfone S4 MTK6589 dual sim with android 4.2.2. I have installed this driver on Windows XP 32 bit and it seems working well. However I see that two storage device appear in the resouces as two removable drives, but I ignore what is the second device. However it is not avaible to access, probably it’ll be the SD card not installed on the phone, yet.
