    I have also rooted my android smartphone. It’s actually pretty easy because there are many how-to guides in the net. However, I’m not fully taking advantage of this because I only have a couple of apps that take advantage of rooted phones. What makes rooting your phone better as compared to other phones that are not rooted?

    The ability to install apps from the internet. Meaning you don’t have to buy the latest games or apps from the market, you can simply go online, download them and install them for free. If you only use free apps however, there isn’t much use in rooting your device, actually it’s a bad idea since you might just end up voiding your warranty.

    Its not just that, you have access to super user, meaning you can allow certain apps to access networking components, etc. WiFi Tethering for example. And no, that’s the same argument people say about jailbreaking. Warranty is voidable only if you take your phone for repair in a rooted state. Which is like trying to buy a Happy Meal in Burger King. You can restore it to its original firmware and the repairman doesnt have to know that you rooted.

    Donut doesnt have Flash support. Plus the hardware isnt going to be compatible with any upgrade so they’re pretty stuck with Donut with the phone.

    True, not much in Android. To be honest, I think this is one good thing about the Apple store, their market isnt going to get saturated soon because of the controls they have implemented.

    well, technically you can also break your finger haha. kidding aside, i used to say the same thing but when I got to use the stylus of a friend’s Galaxy Note II, i changed my mind. I want a stylus to work like that.

    That`s a great article. Also, keep in mind that it`s very hard to brick your device if you respect the instructions to the last point.

    This is true. I think this is the one thing that makes Apple devices better. You cant brick an iPhone.

    I’m using Chrome. And yeah, just like what @lindbergh. It is fast. Faster than Opera. As for the Stability issues, never really crashed on me yet and I hope it stays that way.

    Nope, not in any of my devices. Even my PC. haha. Its just too distracting… i mean, peripheral view, if the wallpaper moves, it looks like your phone just displayed an alert.

    If you’re asking if the stylus alone can make an android device functional, it would really depend on the user. It can deliver more precise actions like tracing or cutting around pictures or writing down something. If you use none of that, then a stylus wouldn’t be any help.

    However, on the hardware side, it can do a lot of things. One, less possibility of scratching your screen (protector) or smudging your screen with your fingerprint. But you also have to consider if the device is built for a stylus since not all devices (or at least, most devices that has a capacitive multipoint screens) are meant to be used with a stylus.

    In theory, a task killer program should work. However, most apps that need to be running in the background are programmed to restart themselves. Especially apps that are needed by other apps.

    @Memento

    Battery Saver DX Pro is partly a task killer, and just like I said about task killers, they dont work. Not anymore. However, it has a feature that can close wifi, 3G and Bluetooth at the same time with just one button. That could be handy.

    This is illegal my friend. And it is not nice. Think about it. The programmers that sells their android applications have worked hard to create them. So if you want a paid application just buy it. ;)

    Exactly ;)

    I think you have to be more specific with your question, its going to depend really on what part of the phone is broken.

    no but if its a popular game there may be a version for other phones. Angry birds for example has a version for all other operating systems.
