    Hi,
I am new to rooting and using android. I have purchased a galaxy s4 mtk6589 china phone. everything seems to be good except rotation will not work. I have turned it on and off and it still does not work. Is it hardware or software? will rooting fix this?

Please let me know anyone :S

    Thanks

No. Rooting will not fix that. Probably it is a setting issue. Go to Settings > Display and make sure Auto rotate screen option is checked.

Hi, auto-rotate is checked. I have turned it on/off restarted and nothing seems to be doing it. I even followed the rooting method on this forum and it rooted successfully but it didnt help. So its hardware you think?

I had same problem, i solve it, try to re-calibrate it go to the screen options and then select “G-Sensor calibration” when you calibrate screen must be up, clic calibrate and wait, that’s all, rotation must work now.
