It is said that there is one leaked design sketch of VIVO Xplay3S with note “84%”, which can be regarded as the display occupancy rate is 84%, which can be called unprecedented!Display occupancy rate means the rate of display in whole phone, which is an important data to measure the phones’ appearance, and the customer experience for gripping and controlling the phone.

The display occupancy rate for the phones on market is arrange from 70%-80%, rarely more than 80%. Because it needs not only to narrow the border, but also high demand on the crafts and design. Even for Meizu MX3, the display occupancy rate is 73.69% with 2.9mm frame, and the larger screen Xplay is only 75.11%. It is apparently that high display occupancy rate is not only narrow frame.

If the display occupancy rate of VIVO Xplay3S can reach 84%, the both sides will be extra narrow, and the upper and lower of upfront will be also narrow. If the Vivo Xplay3S is the same design with Xplay, same size display, and same width for both sides frame, Vivo xplay3S must narrow the frame for upper and lower to 6mm, even if the display will be 6inch, no more than 8mm. Comparing to the TCL hero N3 with 83.4% display occupancy rate and 10mm upper and lower, VIVO Xplay3S must narrow the frame about 2mm. If so, it is not only narrow frame for VIVO, but also need to reconfigure the overall design, which is not a easy job to do. Whether VIVO can finish it or not, we must wait and check.
