ParticipantLet’s leave the fact that we’re all Android device owners for a while.
Which, in your opinion, is a better operative system for either phones or tablets – Apple’s iOS or Google’s Android? Why? Is it the price, user interface, device manufacturers, ability to root/jailbreak, etc. that made you pick either OS?

MemberAndroid! Lol.
I never was a fan of the iOS. The closed ecosystem of the iOS is a big turnoff for me. Android is really the way to go since it is more accessible to a wide range of devices.
Ok, I admit, I’m biased.

MemberWell, for IOS I like the Iphone. As for computers I prefer PCs and the like. Androids are good, but I prefer Iphones.

I have an Android, but I’m convinced that IOS are better! Apple thinks, lives, and breathes innovation. I believe that things will only get better with them..

ParticipantI see this sort of comment all the time, and mainly from iPhone users, but they never give reasons why they like it better. It may only be personal preference of course, but a reason would be nice.
Personally I prefer Android devices because: Many (mine at least) are better speced than the Iphones. They are more open and more customizable. They have widgets, which I use quite often. They are easy to connect to – basically not locked in to iTunes and Apple.
Finally they have USB connections and SDCards to expand and connect more easily.

Well, that really sounds like something an Apple fanboy would say. Some of they take the “innovation” stuff too seriously; Apple hasn’t done anything good for iPhones ever since Steve Jobs passed away.

ParticipantYes, I too fail to see most of this ‘innovation’ the fanbois brag about. Nearly everything Apple does has been done before, often years before, and often, but not always, better.
It’s only “innovation” I can see from recent years for the actual first iPhone concept and app store, and that was only because Nokia had its head up its ass.

MemberI chose Android based on the phone’s ability to be customized and it’s large display. Many Apple users dislike large screens but I love them. The bigger the better right? I feel like I have more overall freedom with Android and it feels more like a real computer when it is in my hands. Apple devices are still very good product, but I feel you get more bang for your buck when you choose Android.

MemberI think that Android is a better operating system, though Apple clearly has an edge due to the size of the App store ecosystem it has built up over the past few years. Although I guess you could say that despite Apple having a greater number of apps, the Android Marketplace has a greater variety because there are a lot of things (mainly to do with customization) that Android apps allow you to do that Apple just flat out won’t let you touch.

ParticipantFor me, Android is better because of sideloading. I can install apps without going to the play store.

ParticipantI would say obviously Android is by far a superior operating system for phones. It is feature rich, powerful, works on many more devices than iOS and and is more secure than iPhone. There are also inexpensive Androids for people like me who are on a budget and can still get a phone that works for them.

ParticipantiOS was very innovative 5 years ago but as time has gone on, Android has now passed iOS I feel. IOS hasn’t innovated in years and that’s why I moved from 5 years of iPhones over to Android.

ParticipantAndroid. I am all about customisation, even though I don’t push my device to its limits. The thing I like about Android is that rooting can be very easy, or you don’t even really have to root it and you should still be able to customise it to a larger degree than an iPhone. This isn’t just bashing on iPhone but my aunt sent me her iPhone once to fix/jailbreak and it was such a nightmare.
