    Most of the latest HDC Galaxy phones out there are on MT6589 Quad Core processor now. Before, the MT6577 phones can be easily rooted with a script method, now; its a good thing that there is a similar rooting tool/procedure for the MT6589 chipset.

    The process is simple.

    1. First you need to download “motochopper by djrbliss” on your PC. {LINK}
    2. Extract the archive anywhere.
    3. For Windows users, you need to install the latest Motorola USB drivers available for your phone. You can easily do it by installing pdaNet or Moborobo on your PC and connecting your phone as per asked by the program. If pdaNet doesnt worked out, you can try Moborobo. {LINKS: pdaNetMoborobo}
    4. Enable USB Debugging mode on your device.
    5. For Windows users, execute the “run.bat” inside the contents of the extracted archive. Be sure to run it as admin. For Linux or OS X users, execute “./run.sh” via terminal window.

    Notes:

    • This is for MT6589 quad core devices.
    • This for Android 4.1.2 JellyBean.
    • Most HDC Android phones are MT6589 and running Android 4.1.2 JellyBean.

    Enjoy your rooted HDC Galaxy phone!

    2. my phone is not a HDC phone, will this work?

    3. lastly, im only running jelly bean 4.1.1 , do i need to upgrade it to 4.1.2 ? and how?

    1. HD is screen resolution nothing to do with CPU

    2. don’t know

    3. If you can find, with a 4.1.2 ROM of course.
