hello all,
I bought one of these iphone clones with MTK 6589 known as the yophone i5, it has Android 4.2 running under an iOS skin that fully simulates iOS. Upon buying I thought it would be easy to remove, but it’s not. Not for me anyway, I really dislike the iphone OS as settings are a pain to manage. I am also unable to make outgoing calls because I can’t access the original settings and set the caller ID.
I have been trying to remove the skin, deleting files like “settings” (I did backup before delete) and some other files I did not back up as I did not think them important (big mistake). Android is still running but in the deleting one of the interface files I also lost the upper toolbar which shows battery life and quick access to controls WIFI and USB settings, very annoying to lose that ability.
I was thinking to format this phone and then put on a new CLEAN version of Android 4.2 on it without that iphone skin. But where do I find such a file?
I am fairly new to Android, not sure how realistic my wishes are.
Appreciate the feedback.
