ParticipantIt looks like HTC’s comeback plan might be to include Windows Mobile OS as a dual boot to their Android phones. I know Microsoft just acquired Nokia and these smartphone OS providers have been eyeing China, but I don’t know exactly how this will work. It sounds like a very weird idea and I don’t know how receptive people will be. More info on the news here: http://bgr.com/2013/10/04/htc-windows-phone-android-dual-boot/

MemberI have absolutely no idea how this is considered a good idea in any way, I have no idea why you’d want 2 operating systems. Especially since Windows phones aren’t all that popular?

ParticipantSame here. It’s just a news that caught my eye because it’s something different. But from a company point of view, I don’t think it’s a wise decision. Few people can’t even use one OS properly, how about if you give them two? If ever this happens, people might still stick with the Android side. There’s nothing notable that I can think of from a Windows phone anyways.

MemberI agree! I don’t see the point of having two operating systems because it would take up a lot of phone memory. I am the kind of person who uses one operating system and will stick with it because I really don’t want to go back and forth. I would think Android OS is enough on the phone. I personally think Window OS on top of Android OS will cause a lot of confusion.

MemberI Don’t think it’s a good idea, because HTC might lose their people. they don’t need another work line they already has the Android OS and HTC performance is pretty high.
I don’t want to look like i know everything, but how would that work? What do they have in mind to make such thing.July 9, 2014 at 6:59 AM #17583james1991
MemberI agree, this might sound like a good idea but in reality why would you want to switch between two operating systems? And why would somebody want Windows over Android!?

MemberThe idea of dual boot is great but I don’t agree with Windows as the second OS. For one I don’t know much people who would want Windows on their phones provided that they already have it on their computers. I would choose Windows over Android on a phone and so I see this dual boot feature as a waste of resources.
