    General

The S5 G900F Plus is a great Android smartphone, with specifications including:

5 inch HD Display with 1280×720 resolution
    Android 4.4.2
    MTK6592 Octa Core 1.7GHz Processor
    16MP Rear Camera
    1.8MP Front Camera
    1080p Video Recording
    GSM, WCDMA, GPRS, EDGE. HSPA
    Bluetooth 4.0
    USB 3.0
    In Built GPS
    1GB RAM
    8GB Expandable Storage

    Display
The display of the Galaxys S5 G900F Plus is pretty decent, at 5 inches in size and a resolution of 1280×720. This is high definition, but not as high as it gets, with other competitors offering resolutions of 1920 x 1080. But on a 5 inch screen, the resolution of the S5 G900F looks pretty good. Everything is clear and crisp, and the size of the screen works well for balancing portability with productivity. The screens an IPS touch screen and supports 16 million colours as well as multitouch.

    Camera

The HDC Galaxys S5 G900F Plus has an epic 16 megapixel rear camera and a 1.9 megapixel front camera. Both support digital zoom. Other camera features include support for full high definition video recording, gesture capture, smile capture, and face beauty. These are all extra features that are sure to help take great snaps with the high resolution camera.

    Connectivity
The S5 has bluetooth 4.0 connectivity, making it compatible with all the latest bluetooth devices and able to transfer data at full speeds. It also connects with USB 3.0 and wireless technology (b/g). Unfortunately it does not support Wireless N, but b/g are still great for browsing the web. The built in GPS chipset makes it easy to navigate and make use of apps like Google Maps. There is also data connectivity, with GPRS, EDGE and HSPA. This is a single sim card device, so you cannot use dual sim cards in the S5 G900F Plus.

    Processor
The S5 G900F runs at a super fast 1.7GHz on an octa core processor. This is plenty of juice to handle the latest Android 4 OS. Things run smoothly and there is no slowing down this octa core processor. The weird thing about this particular device is that the manufacturers say there is 2GB of RAM, but then state there is only 1 GB of real RAM. There is only 1GB of RAM, but this is generally enough for some serious multitasking and you can’t ask for much more at this price range.

    Other Features
The G900F has 8GB of storage, expandable via Micro SD. 8GB isn’t very much these days, so if you get this device you might want to purchase a Micro SD card to add to your storage capabilities. This would be recommended if you want to download music, videos and lots of apps from the Google Play store.

The device is also waterproof. When you close the USB 3.0 and earphone ports, the device is fully submergible. Other neat features include an inbuilt heart rate monitor that works by putting your finger above the Smart Sensor located under the rear camera. It also comes with infrared remote capabilities and can be used as your very own TV remote.

    Battery Life
With a 2800mAh battery, you can expect around 150-200 hours of standby time.

    Dimensions
A 5 inch screen makes this device a little larger than the standard smartphone, but it still maintains a very slim profile at only 8.1mm in depth. The full dimensions of the device are 142.2mm x 72.5m x 8.1mm. These dimensions are comparable to devices like the Samsung S5, and make for a well sized smartphone that balances portability and productivity.

    Verdict and Price
Considering the price of this device, you can’t really complain about what it lacks. The specifications stated are a little confusing, since the manufactures don’t make it very clear what the actual specs are. It should be noted that this smartphone does not have 2GB of RAM, but rather 1GB. But thats just a typical China mistype that comes to be expected when dealing with Chinese Android devices. Apart from that, this is a solid device. It is waterproof, has a great screen, runs fast and comes at an excellent price.

Wonderful phone, and the specs are great, but the battery life is disappointing, it can be a a little better with such specs, you’re gonna need more battery life than that.
The fact that it’s waterproof is kinda too late, Sony has done it way back, they should have done that on the Samsung Galaxy S4.
What about that the real RAM is only 1 GB. Why?

I would say there are two possible reasons why there is only 1GB of real ram. One being that lots of Chinese device manufacturers seem to have something against allowing access to the entire device memory..e.g. there is a 2GB chip but the system only allows for use of 1GB.

The other is that these companies are simply reporting the wrong specs… But when it comes to Chinese gadgets, I would say either of these are viable explanations. They just don’t maintain the consumer standards westerners are used to and yes, sometimes they do provide specs that are completely wrong.
