ParticipantHello pals,
I bought a few days ago a S4 Mini clone which unfortunately had no greek language support and therefore I decided to flash it. Everyting went wrong and the phone doesn’t even switch on. I can’t find the factory ROM in order to flash it to its previous state.
Also, a backup kept with MTKdroid Tools brings errorQuote:ERROR :Recovery doesn’t match by the sizeIs there something to do, or just I destroyed my smartphone?

MemberFlashing also rooting is always risky and you should have a backup ROM before attempting to flash or root. I think your only chance now is to find a good rom for your phone and flash it using SP Flash Tool.

ParticipantWell, I had kept a backup which I made it work!

//the phone is unresponsive, switched off, without its battery and the usb cable is unpluged//
1. I created the backup using the backup option of the MTKdroid Tools (“root, backup, recovery” tab). A folder created in C:UsersusernameDesktopMtkDroidTools v2.5.3backups.
2. I selected the option “To prepare blocks for FlashTool” located in the same tab. A folder named “!Files_to_FlashTool” created in our backup folder.
3. Run the FlashTool and imported the scatter.txt
4. Pressed the Download button
5. Inserted battery and pluged the usb cable in.The process started and when the files copied, the green circle fortunately appeared! I unpluged the usb cable and switched on the phone but it stuck on boot (samsung logo). Again, I switched it off and pressed Power button + Volume Up button simultaneously in order to boot in recovery mode. Then I selected the Wipe/Factory restore option. The phone rebooted and opened normally.
However, some android graphics are missing, e.g. the status bar. Can I reinstall the OS in order to solve this problem? Umit thanks for the reply! It seems impossible to find custom or factory ROM for my phone. Which specifications (hardware, model, baseband, kernel etc.) do we need to find the proper ROM? Can you help me?

Memberhappy to hear that you have resuscitated your phone

reinstalling rom after erasing the data/cache may help.
you can check http://www.needrom.com for the roms or try google. unfortunately, it is not easy or impossible to find support and roms for less popular chinese phones.June 4, 2014 at 6:22 PM #17094chrisch

MemberUse the same method you’ve used before with SP Flash Tool. Flash your backup rom again.

ParticipantAre there any other sites for ROMs except needrom.com? The phone lost its IMEI and the network service is disabled (can’t make calls etc). I don’t know how and why…

MemberI don’t know any other ROM sites. You can write new imei with MTK droid tools. Check your phone box, may be imei is written on it.
