I have a Guophone I9500L 5″ phone with MTK6589. I have installed the drivers on Windows 7 64bit and tried to root it but with no success. I get past the daemon successfully, the device is found and the files are pushed to the phone but after the message “rooting phone” I get a failure message.
What could be wrong? Thanks for any input on this.

It does not seem to work on my phone. According to the Model inside cover it is S7189. In the settings “About phone” :-
Model number = 02_jbla668
Android version = 4.2.2
Kernel version = 3.4.5
root@android #1
Build number = 02_v89_jbla668_20131025

When I run the batch file it goes through the process of installing Superuser then it says :-

[*]Rooting phone…
[+]This may take a few minutes
[-]Failure.
[*]Cleaning up….
….

I see someone else with a S7189 was successful.
Any ideas why it won’t work on mine?

I have a Cubot One MTK6589T mobile phone. I have been looking for a rooting program and finally found one! I checked XDA Developers and Pandawill forum but could not find what I needed. Thank you for your post. Now my phone is rooted.

If anyone can help. My cubot One MTK6589T mobile phone running Android 4.2.1 will not show the picture on Netflix. I can hear the audio but it will not the video. Can anyone direct me? I have the latest version of Netflix on google play but cannot get a picture of a movie during playback. Please direct me to a post that will help. Thank you

I used framaroot version 1.7 but there is a new version 1.8. It worked fine for me. Check the compatability list to see if your phone is listed, if not you can still try it with out it causing damage to the pbone.
