For rooting your Android phone or Tablet, you must install USB driver for your device. Also, installing driver is necessary if you plan to use ADB shell commands within Android Developers Kit.The, problem with the less popular Chinese Android phones and tablets is that, you may not be able to find official driver from the device manufacturer. PDAnet driver comes into rescue in those situations. It should work fine with most of the Android phones and tablets available.
In the steps below, I will try to explain how to install PDAnet drivers on your Windows PC. Attached driver and procedure should work on both 32 and 64 bit versions of Windows. I’ve tested it on Windows 7 64 bit.
Steps:
- Enable USB debugging on your phone from Settings > Developer options
- Download and extract attached PDAnet driver file in some folder on your PC
[ATTACHMENT NOT FOUND] - Go into that folder and run the “PdaNetA4126.exe” file
- Select your phone/tablet manufacturer. Select “Others” for Chinese phones and tablets
[ATTACHMENT NOT FOUND] - Hit “Install” in Windows Security dialog
- Connect your phone when you see the dialog below
[ATTACHMENT NOT FOUND] - You should see the following dialog now. Congratulations! Your PDAnet driver is installed. Click Finish on the dialog.
