Among its many announcements at IFA today, including the launch of both the Mate S and the Huawei Watch, the company also officially unveiled a new mid-range smartphone simply called the G8 which focuses primarily of improved low-light photography performance.
Not much information was revealed about the G8, and how it’s supposed to shoot better low-light photos, other than it features a 13-megapixel rear camera that’s coupled with a dual LED flash, a 5.5-inch full HD 1080p display, a mid-range Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 processor, 3GB of RAM, 32GB of internal storage, a 3000mAh battery, and Android 5.1 out of the box.
Those specifications are pretty standard for a smartphone in this category so we’re curious about what Huawei is bringing to the table with the G8 to make it stand out in an already crowded mid-range smartphone segment.
No price or date of availability have been announced for the G8 so we’ll have to wait to see if Huawei announces those details before IFA ends.[source]
