Membermisspan wrote:Any Jiayu android smart phone users here? How’s your experience of using it? is it really good?I have Jiayu G2. I have no complaints except that I cannot find many custom ROMs for it. But, it is not a very popular model. I think G4 will be better and bigger community for support. Like the Jiayu G3. I can suggest you to stick with popular brands like ZOPO, Jiayu, Lenovo, Huawei, ZTE, Xiaomi etc.

Memberbearman wrote:I had the same problem like this. But there was no problem when the phone was new. After about one year, the problem appeared. The message “insufficient space” always appeared on the screen but the space was obviously enough. At last I gave up deleting the message and it remained on the screen until I buy another smartphone…Have you tried clearing cache or factory reset? That may help with this type of problems.

MemberIt is not a matter of free or paid. Rooting is not a method for installing paid applications illegally.
Rooting is mostly done to install and use applications that require root privileges (like titanium backup root free, setcpu root etc), remove bloatware that came with the phone, to overclock etc.

MemberIt wasn’t fastcardtech’s fault. Because, Jiayu could not keep their promises about the release date and delayed the sale of Jiayu G3.
I didn’t need to enter a PayPal dispute with fastcardtech. They’ve made the refund without any problem after I cancel my order.

MemberIf you only care about the power consumption, I may have a suggestion for you. And that is not a difficult task for a linux expert.
You can use your modem for that purpose. May be you can find a better candidate for this purpose, but you can take a look at fritz!box modems and freetz firmware. It will cost no extra power consumption except the extra load on it. Furthermore, some models support USB storage expansion, so disk space will not be an issue either.
If you are not living in Germany, make sure you get international version of the modem.

Memberseotut wrote:Quite surprisingly though, most smartphones that come with Android aren’t even closely free or open source software, and that’s without taking into consideration firmware and drivers. There are few alternative sources for completely free Android : Replicant, and CyanogenMod (more or less). But even so, I’m not a fan of Android, in fact I despise it, because it doesn’t give the owner full control over the device. That’s why I’m always try to install a complete Linux system on all my devices. Only then can you call them computers.
Thanks for sharing information. You seem to be a linux expert. To explain what you’ve just said, would you mind answering following beginner questions?
1. Is it possible to install pure linux on android devices, like phones or tablets? If yes, then I have following questions
2. Where do you get drivers for that device?
3. Will it be still possible to install android apps on that device? If not, device may not be very suitable for mobile use.
4. Could you please try to share a tutorial on how to do that?
Thanks.imported_umit
