Membereseegun wrote:hello buddies, I trust someone here can help me with how to go about getting cyanogenmod for my MID MTK 6575 dual sim tablet. I have sucessfully rooted it but I’m still unable to get a compatible cyanogenmod so that I can flash my rom and be able to upgrade my ics 4.0.4 to jellybeans 4.2. anybody can help please. thanks in expectant anticipation. If cyanogenmod is available only for some devices and if it is not available for your device, I don’t think anybody can help you other than porting it for your tablet. If somebody knows how to port and shares here, I will be very pleased too.

Thanks a lot! Do I have to follow your rooting method before I find a ROM tha fits my case? No. When you root, you root the ROM, not the phone. When you flash new ROM, everything will be erased including rooting, except things on SD card. So, make sure to backup first. If your new ROM is not already rooted, then you can follow the procedure to root your new ROM.

Sorry, I should have been more detail. I meant of getting my Google Play Store works. I tried uninstalled and re-installed via 3G and Wifi, just cannot add or create any account.
I follow some tip of go through YouTube account, it doesn’t work for me.
Noe I can’t even sync with my Google account, Gmail and any other Google services. In that case the only thing comes to my mind is finding and installing another ROM for the phone. I hope you can find one. If you cannot find the official ROM, may be you can try http://www.needrom.com

Memberwurlyfan wrote:Hello, I’ve just rooted my Mediatek-branded MT6589 phone quickly and with no errors, using the instructions in the Tutorials forum. However, I now find that I have a strange problem with Voice Search. Google Play (My Apps) says it is installed but it doesn’t appear in the phone’s App list. If I select the Voice Search entry in the My Apps list (on Google Play), it doesn’t come up with any “Open” or “Uninstall” buttons, like other apps in the list do.I can’t be sure it was working before I rooted the phone because this is a new phone and I was just setting it up, so this may be nothing to do with the rooting process. I did have Voice Search on my previous phone, so it should appear in My Apps (but I haven’t installed it on the new phone because of this problem).
What should I do?
Have you tried uninstalling and re-installing it?

easy & goodDear nanimo, I bought a unit of Thl W8 from (similar with yours) in China last week and I have problem to run my Google Play Store because I’m unable to add my Google account into it. So, cannot download and use Google apps freely. Do yo have such problem?

Dear Komponini123 and umit,
Actually I’m NOT tech-savvy. Anyone of you can provide me a more detail steps to follow? Like when to plug and when to switch on or off the phone? Sorry….because I do not understand most of the terms used, i.e. flash, recovery and etc….

Dear umit,
I’m not a tech-savvy guy, do not understand most of the terms used (like flash, recovery and etc…) My Thl W 8 bought from China having problem to add my Google account (origianlly wasn’t pre-installed) , so can’t download any Google apps. Does your rooting method help? Because this keep popping out while I tried to log in with existing or even new account – “this could be a temporary problem or your sim card may not be provisioned for data services”.For rooting you don’t need to turn off the phone. Just follow the steps in the first post. To install apps from Google Play, your phone must be connected to the internet either using wi-fi or 2G/3G. Rooting only gives you more control on your device. You can reinstall Google Play store and Google services. However, you need to know how to do it. Without any knowledge, I don’t think you can.
