I am new to rooting and using android. I have purchased a galaxy s4 mtk6589 china phone. everything seems to be good except rotation will not work. I have turned it on and off and it still does not work. Is it hardware or software? will rooting fix this? Please let me know anyone :S
Thanks
No. Rooting will not fix that. Probably it is a setting issue. Go to Settings > Display and make sure Auto rotate screen option is checked.

MemberIf you think that is the original ROM, then go ahead and flash it. You have nothing to loose at this moment.

MemberIt can be recovered by flashing the official or working ROM. Finding official or working ROM may be the hardest part of the process. Check http://www.needrom.com if the manufacturer site does not provide ROMs.
