The holiday season has started and many people are shopping for new gadgets. So we take two of China’s the most recently launched mid-range smartphones, the Kingzone K2 and Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 and see which one deserves your money.
Both the K2 and Redmi Note 3 feature full HD 1080p display panels but the former features a smaller screen at 5-inches while the latter comes with a larger 5.5-inch screen meaning the former features a higher pixel density at 441ppi compared to the 401ppi of the latter so choosing between the two will depend on whether you want a sharper or larger display.
Processor & RAM
The Kingzone K2 comes with a MediaTek MT6753 1.5GHz 64-bit processor, a Mali-T720 MP4 graphics chip, and 3GB of RAM while the Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 comes with a more powerful MediaTek MT6795M 2GHz 64-bit octa-core processor and PowerVR G6200 graphics chip but with less RAM at only 2GB. Choosing between the two will depend on your priorities – multi-tasking or raw processing power.
Both the K2 and Redmi Note 3 come with 16GB of internal storage but the K2 has the advantage of being equipped with a microSD card slot so its storage can be boosted by up to 64GB while the Redmi Note 3 is stuck with only 16GB. The battery on the K2 is smaller though at 2600mAh while the Redmi Note 3 features a larger 4000mAh battery.
Camera
Both devices feature 13-megapixel rear cameras but the one on the K2 uses a Sony IMX214 Exmor RS sensor while the Redmi Note 3 uses an unknown Samsung sensor. The K2’s rear camera lens also features a wider aperture of f/2.0 compared to the f/2.2 aperture of the Redmi Note 3. This leads to the K2 producing better photos in either day or night environments. Additionally, the K2 also comes with a more powerful front-facing camera at 8-megapixels compared to the Redmi Note 3’s 5-megapixel selfie camera.
Conclusion
While many of the specifications of the K2 and Redmi Note 3 are toss ups depending on your priorities, the rest of the specifications lean towards the K2 being a more powerful and versatile device all around.
