[REVIEW]iNEW U5

This month Chinese smartphone brand – iNew -launched their latest phone called iNew U5, which is hopeful to gain the same success as previous model known – iNEW U3. Now we will categorize the specs & features of iNew U5 in the following.

(1) Appearance
The material used for the making iNew U5 back body is solely of metallic aluminium alloy. The dimensions of iNew U5 are 71.9 x 144.8 x 8.2 mm. On the left side of the back of phone, the rear camera and a flashlight are located in a circular shape, looking similar to Apple iPhone series. On the left side of iNew U5 is the volume and menu bar. Meanwhile, on the right side there’s no button present. Below the screen of iNew U5 are three touch based buttons. The center one is the home screen button, the left one is the menu and the right one is the back button.

The excellent part of iNew U5 is that the USB port, 3.5 mm audio jack and charging port, all are located on the upper side of the phone rather than the bottom side. The iNew U5 is available in three colors: Pearl White, Red, Grey.

(2) Display
Besides the 5.0-inch IPS LCD display with 1280 x 720 pixels resolution (294 ppi), the device also supports multi-touch/capacative screen, and 5 fingers at a monemt. If you are likely to have a better display, i will recommend you to buy high end phones like Meizu MX 4 & 5, OnePlus 2 and Xiaomi Mi4 etc.

(3) Performance
Powered by 64-bit MediaTek MT6735 quad-core (1.0 GHz) processor that based on Cortex A53 as well as Mali T720 GPU, iNEW U5 has 1 GB of RAM memory and 16GB of the internal storage, which supports storage expansion through microSD card.

(4) Connectivity
iNew U5 is compatible with FDD-LTE 800/900/1800/2100/2600MHz, W-CDMA 900/2100MHz and GSM 850/900/1800/1900MHz networks. The device supports maximum download speed on 4G of 150 Mbps and maximum download speed on 4G of 50 Mbps due to the LTE Cat. The iNew U5 is a dual SIM smartphone, hence, users are able to insert two SIM cards into the device (micro SIM). with dual standby mode. Meanwhile, iNew U5 also connects via Bluetooth 4.0, WiFi, USB OTG and a 3.5mm audio jack.

(5) Camera
The rear Camera is based on 8 Megapixels CMOS sensor with a LED Flash, which also supports Auto-focus, some camera effects, f/2.4 aperture and ISO mode. While the front Camera is 2 Megapixels CMOS sensor camera.

(6) Battery & OS
iNew U5 is running on Android 5.1 Lollipop version of operating system and comes with a 2,300mAh Li-ion removable battery.
