How to install MT/MTK 65xx USB driver on Windows 7

Steps:
1. Download and extract attached driver package
2. Enable usb debugging in settings > developer options on your phone
3. Open Device Manager in Control Panel
  [ATTACHMENT NOT FOUND]
4. Right-click the device name (e.g. MT65xx Android Phone or some other device which was detected) and select Update Driver Software. This will launch the Hardware Update Wizard.
5. Select Browse my computer for driver software and click Next.
6. Click Browse and locate the USB driver folder you’ve extracted in step 1
  [ATTACHMENT NOT FOUND]
7. If asked select “Android Composite ADB Interface” or one which compatible with your device and click Next.
  [ATTACHMENT NOT FOUND]
8. Follow instructions and finish driver installation.

I’m new here and in the fantastic android world. I would like to ask if someone could please tell me if these drivers works on windows XP (or where i can find drivers for XP).

Yes it should work on XP, but I haven’t tested. May be you can try and let us know.

i just tried these drivers but they didn’t work on windows xp for my Star B943 android phone (maybe, i cannot install the drivers (probably the problem was me and not drivers )).
Btw, i was successful in rooting my phone using pdanet adb usb drivers.
(http:// droidchina. com/forum/Thread-PDAnet-ADB-USB-Driver-For-Windows) and motochopper root.
for those who are interested, i wasn’t able to go over the point 4) (the phone wasn’t recognized so the setup didn’t go on). I solved telling windows to search drivers on c:program filespdanet for android (where i installed the program).

Hi,
I need some urgent help please.
Followed all the steps in your post.
1Tel indicates that is USB connected
2 PC Device Manager only shows OTHER DEVICES—- MASS STORAGE
I do not have the MT65XX ANDROID PHONE ENTRY at all and cannot load the inf file (Tried several PC re-starts with tel connected and not connected during re starts)
3 Installed the Android ADB Interface (I do not know what it does) and gives me an exclamation mark in the usual yellow triangle

Running win7x64 new installation with all updates

Is there a way to make win force recognize the phone (STAR S 7599 just got it)

Urgently need to connect to transfer files.
Thank you in advance for your assistance

Hello, I tried with a Zopo C2 and the driver works.

I unpacked the file MT65xx_USB_Driver.zip and copied it on the hard disk. Then during installation I specified the path to the inf file (android_winusb.inf).

I noticed that Zopo C2 uses VID=0BB4 and PID=0C03 (the same of HTC Magic ?)

Mass storage controller is another problem in Win 7. I am facing it on my Toshiba laptop. When I connected my phone it showed it in other devices with yellow mark and as per instructions I installed the driver.

Hello, I am new here. I am trying to use my Star x920 to transfer files from the phone to the computer (Windows 7 64 bit), such as photos. When I connect via usb, the phone is not shown in my computer. I got eh message MT65xx Preloader not installed, so I followed the tutorials, including removing reinstalling etc.
The Android phone is shown in device manager, but not as a storage device.
So, how can I transfer files via usb?

It worked fine on my HDC Galaxy Note 2 N8971- MTK6589 Quad Core 1.2GHz 5.7inch HD IPS Screen Android 4.2.1 Phone. I tried the front USB ports and did´t work at first but then I tried the back onboard usb ports and work perpectly.

Hallo kan iemand mij helpen met de Star W009 telefoon uit china .Ik ben geen bereik om te bellen krijg steeds te zien geen mobiel netwerk.
Ben al terug geweest naar de verkoper daar doet hij het perfect en thuis doet de telefoon niks .Heeft dit met de smalband versie te maken want ik snap er helemaal niks meer van .Update kan niet .het is een Star W009 4.0.4 modelnummer A651.SmalbandversieMAUI.11AMD.W11.50.sp.V28.
Kernel versie2.6.35.7 Build nummerALPS.GB2.MP.V2.18.
Release V2.02. Internet enz alles doet het maar ik krijg gewoon geen verbinding om te bellen.Kan iemand mij hier mee helpen.Moet ik iets anders op de telefoon zetten of veranderen
