Updated UMi X1s will go on sale on May 8th for $150

UMi have announced the launch date for the UMi X1s quad-core phone, along with some important updates and pricing.

The UMi X1s is the updated quad-core brother of last years dual-core UMi X1, but the updates and changes don’t stop at just a bump in processor performance. The X1s also boasts a slightly larger 1850mAh battery, Android 4.2 Jelly Bean and Corning Gorilla Glass 2.

Gorilla Glass 2 is a very important feature as many owners of the original phone complained that the display broke all to easily. Umi have also announced that pricing will be set lower than originally expected at just 928 Yuan ($150) and there will be 50,000 units available on 8th May which is the official launch date.
