This morning a new teaser has been posted by Vivo on microblogging website Weibo which hints that Vivo X6/ X6 Plus will be powered by MediaTek’s latest 10 core Helio X20 chipset. Earlier Antutu Benchmarking results surfaced indicating that Vivo X6 will be using a MediaTek MT6752 octa-core processor. So, the X6 Plus variant could possibly be using the Helio X20 chip. If this turns out to be true, which we will know for sure only on Nov 30, it will be among the first few devices using the Helio X20 chipset. However, according to a Mediatek exec, the Helio X20 powered smartphones are only expected to be available by Q1 2016. If that’s the case, how can X6 Plus launch so soon? Well, we just have to wait for four more days to get an answer to this question.
The teaser also highlights the enhanced 4G capabilities of the smartphone.
On an interesting note new photos confirming the existence of Vivo X6 Plus appeared online. While both Vivo X6 and Vivo X6 Plus feature the same metallic design, 2.5D curved glass and fingerprint sensor there are some differences as well between the two. Vivo X6 maintains a slim profile and have visually thin bezels across the width of the display where as Vivo X6 Plus looks a little bit bulky and bezels seem to be a bit wider than Vivo X6. In short Vivo X6 maintains a higher screen to body ratio than Vivo X6 Plus.
As far as specifications are concerned Vivo X6 / Vivo X6 Plus will boast of 4 GB RAM, Dual Charging technology for faster charging speeds and will run on latest FunTouch OS 2.5. Both the smartphones are expected to come equipped with ES HiFi amplifier chip and system.
Vivo X6 is expected to sport a compact screen size of 5.2 inches with Full HD resolution and 13MP cameras on both front and back. On the other side Vivo X6 Plus reportedly flaunts a larger 5.7 inch display and is expected to bring on board a 16 MP camera capable of recording 2K videos.
With just five days remaining in the official announcement of the Vivo X6 it will be worth waiting as Vivo has really made something special this time.
