Pushbullet is the cross-platform app that allows your messages from different IMs and the notifications to be synced to the desktop, added the much requested end-to-end encryption functionality.

Pushbullet, once a simple tool for sending files between your multiple sort of devices, has announced that it now supports end-to-end encryption for additional user privacy, as it continues its success towards becoming a fully-fledged messenger.
The company seems ramping up its security by adding optional end-to-end encryption. So, this means that your data is encrypted before it leaves your phone and then it would be decrypted when it gets to your other devices. By setting up end-to-end encryption, you can be confident that your data is only readable when it’s shown to you and its most for those who care much about their privacy.
The encryption also comes handy to Pushbullet’s ability of universal copy and paste between devices which was introduced earlier by Pushbullet.
To set it up, you need to go to Settings on every device where you’re using Pushbullet, select Enable encryption, then enter a password. Once enabled, it means that the data passed using Pushbullet isn’t visible to the service itself or the company – only encrypted data is passed further next.
For now, the encryption works only across Android, Chrome, and Windows. In a blog post, the company says support for iOS and Mac are around the corner, with plans for Opera, Safari, & also for Firefox browser extensions in the works as well.
