The Moto Z is built from a 7000 series aviation grade aluminium and high steel backplate which is also corrosion resistant. Lenovo has employed a closed-loop antenna design for the NFC chip and communication module to achieve its 5.2 mm thinness (thickness). The Moto Z also features a P2i liquid repellent nano-coating to protect it from liquids.
