USB Type-C is a fairly new technology and not a lot of devices and technologies have come to feature or support it but information found today shows that the recently released LeTV One Pro and One Max, both featuring USB Type-C connectors, are the first in the world to support Qualcomm’s Quick Charge 2.0 technology.
The LeTV One Pro and One Max, both of which use Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 810 processor, join the likes of the Samsung Galaxy S6 and LG G4 in the list of smartphones that support Quick Charge 2.0 and, as previously mentioned, are the first devices on the list that are equipped with the new USB Type-C ports.
USB Type-C, which was finalized late last year, is the next standard in USB connectors and will eventually replace the older Type-A and Type-B connectors. USB Type-C was developed to catch up with the transfer speed standards of other connectors such as Apple’s Lightning. The USB Type-C is also orientation-agnostic, which means the connector can be used either way and it will still attach and work.
So now that LeTV One Pro and One Max support Qualcomm’s Quick Charge 2.0 technology, it was also found that new USB Type-C-based power adapters that support the fast-charging technology are already going through certification and should be available soon.
