Meizu Pro 6 has been in the news for past couple of weeks and time and again rumors have surfaced hinting that the upcoming flagship smartphone from the brand will feature a 2K display and Exynos 8890 chipset.
But in a recent conversation with a Meizu fan, Li Nan blasted off all rumors and confirmed that 2K display and Exynos 8890 chipset will not be a part of Meizu pro 6 features.
So it is now almost confirmed that Meizu Pro 6 will not be using the widely speculated 2K display and Li Nan stated that the reason for not using the 2K display is the higher power consumption by the higher resolution display panel which will affect battery life of the smartphone.
Later on, Li Nan also confirmed that Meizu Pro 6 will not use the Exynos 8890 chipset as it lacks the full network support in China. Which chipset will be used is still not confirmed but it can be Snapdragon 820 chipset which is widely used in almost all flagship smartphones. SD820 is also one of the best smartphone chipsets in the market right now, so it will be a good choice for the Pro 6.
If reports are to be believed then Meizu Pro 6 will feature a pressure sensitive display and will run Flyme OS based on Android Marshmallow. Other details are unknown as of now and will we update later on. Stay tuned!
Looks like Huawei’s CEO Richard Yu was right all along! He had mocked Xiaomi, Meizu and other manufacturers last year for using 2K displays and now, all of these companies are slowly sticking with 1080p panels.
What do you think? 1080p resolution good enough for smartphones? [source]
