Huawei Mate S Will Come in Several Color Options, Company Teases Force Touch Display

The Huawei Mate S has been one of the most anticipated devices of the past few weeks due to the large number of leaks that have been circulating. Today, another bit of information was leaked again revealing that you’ll be able to choose several color options of the upcoming Huawei Mate S according to a new leak by popular gadget leaker @evleaks.

huawei-mates-color-force-touch-01Images of what look like official renders of the Mate S show that the front of the device may come in either black, white, or copper while all three color variants will feature a silver back side. There’s also the possibility that the whole device will come in the aforementioned colors and the leaked silver back side is a fourth silver color variant.

Aside from the leak, Huawei also teased one of the most interesting features of the Mate S – its Force Touch display. The new technology will make the Mate S touch screen pressure-sensitive which opens up many possibilities for interface and software developers to create new ways to interact with the device.

The only other device in the market that has this technology is the Apple Watch so with the expected launch of the Mate S at the IFA expo this week the Mate S may very well be the first smartphone to feature the new technology. As the only other device that is said to come with a pressure-sensitive display, the iPhone 6S, is expected to be launched at least two weeks from now.

As for the rest of the Mate S’s specifications, previous leaks have revealed that it could feature a 5.7-inch 1080p display, a Kirin 935 processor, 3GB of RAM, a 20-megapixel rear camera, an 8-megapixel front-facing camera, and Huawei’s signature rear-mounted fingerprint sensor.

We’re going to have to wait for Huawei to officially unveil and launch the Mate S to confirm all the information that has leaked so far. And if all of them are true, the Mate S could very well be the most interesting smartphone of the year.
