OnePlus has released a few details on how the company will be handling invites for their upcoming OnePlus 2 smartphone.
According to the company, the “new and improved” invite system will now make it easier for fans to get invites for OnePlus 2. The company announced three major changes to the invite system as well as a few minor changes including the creation of physical invite cards for the OnePlus 2.
The first of the three major changes coming to the OnePlus 2 invite system is the simple addition of a lot more invites. The company explains that with the success of the OnePlus 1 it is now more confident and has prepared a far larger launch inventory that last time. Specifically, the company says that their launch inventory is now 30 to 50 times larger than the launch inventory of the OnePlus 1.
Secondly, the company has expanded the avenues in which fans may get invites. Previously, fans had to hang out on forums and social media and wait for invites to be given away. But now OnePlus will be creating a reservation list where fans can simply add their e-mail so they need only wait for their invite to arrive when it is available.
Lastly, OnePlus will be making it easier for people who’ve received invites to also invite their friends to get the OnePlus 2. This time, fans will receive their sharable invites faster than before so their friends can get the opportunity to purchase the OnePlus 2 much sooner.
The OnePlus 2 is scheduled to be officially launched on July 27. It will feature a Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 v2.1 processor, 4GB of RAM, a 3300mAh battery, a fingerprint sensor, a USB Type-C connector, and more but we’ll have to wait for the official launch to find out the rest of the new flagship smartphone’s features and specifications.[source]
