Gionee has announced that they will be holding a conference next week on Wednesday, June 10, in Beijing to launch the company’s new flagship smartphone, the Gionee E8, as well as a new mid-range smartphone, the Gionee M5.
The company’s new flagship, the Gionee E8, will feature a 6-inch 2K display with a screen resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels, the 2GHz octa-core MT6795 processor from MediaTek, 3GB of RAM, 32GB of internal storage with support for expandable storage via microSD, and a 3,250mAh battery. The E8 is also equipped with a fingerprint sensor in the rear along with an impressive 23-megapixel rear camera and an 8-megapixel front-facing camera. The new device measures 164.0 x 82.3 x 9.6mm, weights 207 grams, and runs the Android 5.0 Lollipop-based Amigo 3.0 operating system.
On the other hand, the other device the company plans to launch at the event, the Gionee M5, features a 5.5-inch AMOLED display with a screen resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels, a 1.3GHz quad-core processor, 2GB of RAM, 16GB of internal storage, and support for expandable storage via microSD. The M5 also features an unprecedented dual-battery design which gives it a total battery capacity of 6000mAh. It’s also equipped with an 8-megapixel rear camera, a 5-megapixel front-facing camera, and runs Android 5.0 Lollipop. The new device, even though it contains two batteries, measures only 8.6mm thin and weighs only 213 grams.
