It’s been awhile since we last heard anything about the first smartphone from Qihoo 360 and Coolpad joint company QiKu. But since the device is expected to be unveiled this month, it’s not surprising that information on the upcoming device has finally started leaking.
According to the leak, the first QiKu smartphone will be priced at above the 3,000 Yuan mark and will be targeted toward the high-end market.
The leak also stated that the device will be powered by the upcoming Snapdragon 820 processor from Qualcomm, 128GB of internal storage space, a 20.7-megapixel rear camera with optical zoom, a front-facing camera with a ring flash, and a pressure-sensitive touchscreen similar to Apple’s Force Touch technology.
If the device does end up featuring a Snapdragon 820 processor, we can expect that in spite of an August unveiling the device will only actually start shipping sometime near the end of the year as that is when the new processors are expected to start showing up on devices as well.
It looks like QiKu really plans to position itself in the high-end market with its first smartphone release. Hopefully, the partnership between its parent companies will help its new device become a success. [source]
